Regina Sierra Carter received a B.A. in English from the University of South Carolina-Columbia, an Ed.M. in Learning and Teaching from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, a M.S. in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), and Ph.D. in Educational Policy Studies from UIUC.
Her research interests include the following interdisciplinary areas: the history of Black librarianship in the twentieth century, Black children's literature, multicultural children's and young adult literature, storytelling, culturally relevant academic library programs, and diversity in library science.
